Retirement
My mom had her retirement party this week. Can you imagine after working your entire life not having to go to work everyday....man that's a long ways away for me :-) Not that my mom will have one minute of down time. I tell everyone she'll be busier in retirement then she was while working. She already has 2 or three trips planned in the next few months including Alaska and Africa! Congratulations Mom!

2 Weeks Old
It's been a busy two weeks....Bryce was in for his 2 week appointment and is still gaining weight! He's up to 8 lbs 5oz..up from 8lbs even last Thursday. He's 30% for height and 50% for weight he has a touch of thrush so they gave him some meds to nip it in the bud early. Other then that he's great. His doctor was amazed at how alert he was for only being 2 weeks old.
Bryce's first bath at home.
Great Grandma Betty and Great Grandpa Kick visited. My grandpa always says that he could hold the baby all day and night. I think he could. It's amazing how happy a little baby makes them.

1 week
Bryce visited the doctor yesterday. He was born 8 lbs 15 oz was discharged at 8lbs 2 oz and was 7 lbs 14 oz on Monday. Some of the weight loss can be attributed to getting the fluid out of his lungs and stomach after delivery. The rest well he just isn't a motivated eater like Teagan was. So I now have to suppliment the breast feeding with formula after each feeding. We'll go back to the doctor later this week and hopefully be able to end to supplimenting. I don't know if it's becuase he's the second baby or because he's that much more laid back or because I'm more laid back or maybe I'm just not remembering correctly but he is such an easy baby. Eats on a schedule, sleeps well, rarely cries.....and Teagan she has been such a great big sister. She wants to hug and kiss him but isn't overwhelming.... the only time he cries is when he's getting his diaper changed and Teagan is so concerned that she starts crying. We've explained that crying is his way of "talking" and that he's ok. I think she's getting over it. Thank goodness for the beautiful weather we've been having. She's been spending a lot of time outside with Brandon cleaning, doing yard work, planting their garden for a second year, riding her bike. We are very lucky to have 2 wonderful children.
Sleeping babies are so peacful.
Teagan was born during hockey season so she came home from the hospital in a Wild outfit. Since it's now Twins season and we are spliting season tickets with a few others it was clear that this baby would be coming home in a Twins outfit. It took me until the day before the delivery to find it and it's a tad big but mission accomplished.

Bryce Jeffrey
Our family welcomed Bryce Jeffrey Tuesday, May 12th. 8lbs 15oz. Delivery went well and after a brief visit to the nursery for fluid in the lungs Bryce is doing fantastic!

Bryce under the hood.
Teagan was a little confused because she really thought we were going to have a baby girl named Ellie. When she left the hospital that night she started crying and said " we can't leave the baby in the hospital, mom said we would take the baby home." So caring.

TC 1 Mile

Last year I registered for the Twin Cities 10 mile race in October. It's a lottery and less then 50% of applicants get in. Needless to say I did not get selected last year. So this year I thought I'd do the Twin Cities 1 mile which holds a separate lottery for finishers to get into the TC 10 mile. My chances were much better. So a few months ago I signed up and the race was last night....4 days before I'm having a baby!!! I don't know if I'm crazy or what but I thought heck why not give it a try. So Brandon and Teagan drove me downtown and cheered me on. I finished the race but it took me slightly longer then the 12 minute cut off. Actually I finished last in my wave! I don't think I've ever finished last in anything. It was a beautiful night and a great experience. Being that I didn't finish under 12 minutes I won't be eligible for the lottery so I'll have to try the 10 mile lottery again but it was worth it.

Braden and Bryce....they are only 5 weeks apart.
Bryce and Landon are 8 weeks apart. It's amazing how fast they grow.
